Time Electric who looked so promising when making a successful debut in a Leopardstown bumper in December 2007, put several disappointments since behind him when making most on his handicap bow to easily land the Ballyhale Handicap Hurdle under Davy Russell.
The son of Presenting was clear in the straight, he jumped the second last almost too well and his supporters were on their way to collecting on the 11/4 favourite when he was very good again at the last.
Winning trainer, Tom Mullins said: "Maybe he'll live up to his talking horse reputation now. The last day Davy said he just kept going at the same pace and would have done for another half a mile so we decided to ride him handier today and the better ground helped. He may get a hike from the handicapper so he could have to run in a novice next, which will be at Punchestown because Fairyhouse will come too soon. He is a chaser for next year and he'll stick to two and a half miles from now on on better ground."
Mullins also reported that the ear-plugs that Time Electric wore here were employed last time at Leopardstown too and that he'll stay wearing them when he is winning. (EM)
