Lexington is the second-largest city in the state of Kentucky. The city may not be as grand when it comes to lights and tall buildings as New York City or Las Vegas but is popular for other things, mainly horses and horse racing. In fact, the city is actually called the “Horse Capital of the World.”

Lexington is the home to the Kentucky Horse Park, The Red Mile and Keeneland racecourses, as well as other major sporting venues. It is also home to one of the biggest, most-anticipated, and most hyped racing event of the year: The Breeders' Cup 2020.

With the major horse racing event up and coming in a few months now might be a good time to finally complete your Ladbrokes sign up. As an online sports bettor, you won’t want to miss this major event and the chance to wager on the best horses from both America and across the globe.

Where will The Breeders' Cup 2020 happen?

The Breeders' Cup 2020 will take place at the Keeneland Racecourse, in Lexington, Kentucky.

This is only the second time the Breeders' Cup event will be staged at Keeneland. The first one was in 2015. To say that event was successful would be an understatement. A total of 44,947 people were in attendance at the Friday opening, a record-breaking figure at the time. 51,155 attended on the Saturday.

When it comes to betting both on-site and online, the 2015 Breeders' Cup that took place at Keeneland set a record of more than $150 million wagered over the two days

Uniquely structured, Keeneland Inc. is a privately held company with a not-for-profit mission that returns its earnings to the industry and the community in the form of higher purses and millions of dollars donated in support of horse industry initiatives and charitable contributions for education, research and health and human services throughout Central Kentucky.

The attendance at this year’s event could well be restricted due to the coronavirus pandemic but with five months still to go it would be expected that the races will not be required to take place behind closed doors.

Betting tips for The Breeders' Cup 2020

Whether or not there is a crowd in attendance at Breeders’ Cup 2020 anyone over the age of 18 can place bets on the event using an online betting account with companies like Ladbrokes.

Most betting firms will already have prices available for the main races on the Saturday but be aware that these are ante-post prices which means if your horse doesn’t make it to the start line you will lose your money.

Placing bets on the races at this time is a high risk strategy as the final runners and riders for each of the races won’t be known until the beginning of November.
