Testing conditions likely for Punchestown

The going at Punchestown ahead of their five day Festival which starts tomorrow and runs until Saturday, is currently soft, soft to heavy in places on the hurdle, chase and bumper tracks while it’s soft on the cross country course.

There was 10mm of rain at the Co Kildare venue on Sunday while a further 2mm fell overnight.

With the forecast for further rain today and tomorrow the ground is likely to ease even further ahead of the season ending Festival.

Meanwhile at Cork ahead of racing there today the ground is now yielding, yielding to soft in places on the hurdle course while it’s yielding to soft, soft in places on the chase track.

6mm of rain fell at the venue overnight.
