Macgiloney has been a great servant for Denis Hogan and won for the tenth time when landing the Devon Inn Hotel Handicap Hurdle at odds of 25/1.
The Milan gelding came from mid-division under Daniel King to get into contention after the second last. After heading Perceval Legallois over the final flight, he just held on to beat that rallying rival by a nose. Riggs was back in third with winning trainer Hogan on board his other runner, Wild Hunt in fourth.
7lb claimer King said: “It worked out very well. I sat midfield the whole way and he travelled well.
“The further we went the better he was jumping and when I needed a jump at the last he produced. He was always just doing enough.”
King's brother Conor rode a winner on Monday and he added: “It was nice for him to get a winner and I'm delighted to get a winner here today.
“I work for Denis on summer holidays and the weekends. I'm still in school at the moment but when I'm off I'm with Denis.”
