Enigmatic chaser Or Royal is set to reappear over hurdles at Ascot on Saturday.
Mary Reveley has the choice of two races for the nine-year-old, who has not been seen out since he refused to race, for the third time in his career, at Wetherby on Boxing Day.
He went to Kelso last Friday to put his enthusiasm to the test again and his trainer said today: "He worked with two of our other horses and with three more and he jumped off no bother for Peter (Niven) so hopefully he will do the same at Ascot but you just never know with him.
"I don't think he would run if the ground softened up but I have put him in the two-mile handicap hurdle and the three-mile conditions race so we will have an option.
"If it was good ground he would probably go for the shorter race but if it was fast I might try him in the three-miler. Peter will ride."
Mrs Reveley has also entered Merry Masquerade in the three-mile Grosvenor Casinos Long Distance Hurdle and she went on: "There would have to be some cut in the ground for him so whatever it is like I suppose it would not suit both of them."
