British racing continues to be blighted by the prolonged spell of heavy rain sweeping the country.
Tomorrow`s meetings at Brighton and Redcar have already been lost to waterlogging, while Catterick`s Flat card on Saturday is also under threat.
An inspection will be held tomorrow at the North Yorkshire course to determine whether racing can go ahead.
Clerk of the course John Gundill, who holds the same position at Redcar, said: 'We couldn`t take any more rain as the course is unraceable.
'The forecast is for sunny intervals and thunderstorms and we need it to stay dry - if it does we have got a fighting chance.
'We will have an inspection at 12.30 tomorrow.'
Earlier Redcar had bowed out to the elements.
Racing at the rain-hit venue today had already been called off and an inspection this morning led to the scrapping of tomorrow`s card.
'Racing has been abandoned for tomorrow as well,' confirmed Gundill.
'There is no hope that the course will be raceable tomorrow.
'We didn`t have any more rain overnight but there is still standing water and we have got patches of false ground from where we raced two weeks ago.'
Tomorrow`s replacement meeting at Brighton, which was designed to make up for recent fixture losses, was itself abandoned after heavy rain has put paid to the card.
'The course is waterlogged and there is more rain forecast,' said clerk of the course Jeremy Martin.
'I`ve been out with local trainers Gary Moore and Mark Flower and there are too many dodgy areas. It is unbelievable - I have never seen Brighton like it.
'We have had two inches of rain overnight and five in the past week.
'But hopefully we will be all right for our meeting next Thursday.'
Officials at Hereford are very hopeful that their meeting tomorrow will go ahead without any hitches.
Clerk of the course John Williams said: 'The going is good, good to soft in places, the sun is shining and there should be no risk.
'There are showers forecast but we should be fine - it would take an awful lot of rain to put us in doubt.'
Market Rasen report no problems for Saturday`s meeting at the Lincolnshire course despite the recent spell of wet weather.
The going at the track was today described as good to soft with soft patches on the straight of the chase course.
A statement from the course read: 'There are no fears for the last Saturday meeting of the year at Market Rasen in spite of the rain that has fallen in the past week.
'The weather forecast for the weekend at the Lincolnshire track is promising, with a dry day in store.
'The course has stood up to the torrential downpours well, with the extensive drainage works which were carried out throughout the summer proving a worthy investment.'
Stratford are also confident that their meeting will withstand the elements.
Clerk of the course Stephen Lambert said: 'The going is soft with the odd heavy patch.
'We had no rain overnight but the river has risen to quite a high level and is affecting the drainage.
'We`re very confident of racing.'
There are no problems reported at Kelso, where the going is officially described as soft, or for the remaining two days of Newmarket`s meeting.
