TRUMPETER HITS WINNING NOTE AGAIN

Kevin Darley has really hit it off with Milton Bradley's bargain-buy Eastern Trumpeter and they struck yet again with a decisive success in the Mr Kipling Exceedingly Good Stakes at York today.

Darley dashed Eastern Trumpeter between long-time leader Blessingindisguise and Storyteller at the furlong-marker and kept him going strongly to beat the former by one and a quarter lengths.

Bradley's team are in cracking form and the Chepstow trainer said afterwards: 'We bought Eastern Trumpeter two years ago for a song - 1200 guineas - and this is the ninth race he has won.

'This is the fourth time Kevin has ridden him and they are unbeaten together - he gets on really well with him and I said to him when he came back in 'Kevin, you are a friend for life for a small stable!'
