Looks Like Trouble, pulled up behind See More Business when second favourite for the Pertemps King George VI Chase, could reappear at Wincanton a week today.
Trainer Noel Chance believes his charge's poor showing at Kempton was down to the testing conditions and will not risk the eight-year-old on soft going in the future.
"He has been just perfect since Kempton - there's nothing wrong with him - and the John Bull Chase at Wincanton next week is being considered if the ground is OK," he said today. "He won't run on anything worse than good.
"We could do with a dry week and if anywhere is going to be dry it's Wincanton."
Chance is also considering aiming his Royal & SunAlliance Chase winner at next month's Aon Insurance Chase at Newbury, where he could renew rivalry with See More Business.
He said: "We wouldn't rule out the Newbury race so long as the ground is good and the Hennessy at Leopardstown is also an option.
"He needs the experience against the established chasers and there are so few opportunities for horses like him."
Looks Like Trouble is currently priced at 16-1 by Ladbrokes for the Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup in March.
