Today`s English meeting at Towcester has been abandoned after heavy rain left the course unraceable.
The card had received the go-ahead after a precautionary inspection early this morning.
However, a spell of torrential rain arrived and washed the meeting out.
Clerk of the course Hugo Bevan said: 'We`ve had half an inch of rain in an hour and a half and, although we were perfectly capable of racing first thing this morning, the ground is now completely saturated and we`ve had to abandon.'
Today`s other meeting takes place at Haydock Park where there are no reported problems. The going is Heavy.
