Mick Channon`s dual-Group One winner Tobougg will join Godolphin, it was announced today.
The Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum-owned colt won his maiden race at York before landing impressive victories in the Prix de la Salamandre and Darley Dewhurst Stakes from three starts to take high rank among the season`s juveniles.
In a statement to PA Sport, Channon said: 'Sheikh Ahmed and Sheikh Mohammed have decided that Tobougg will spend the winter in Dubai and will return next year to race under Godolphin.
'I have been extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to train some very good two-year-olds for Sheikh Ahmed in recent years, such as Bint Allayl, Josr Algarhoud, Maidaan and now Tobougg, and I hope to continue to do so.
'It is a great thrill to handle them for their two-year-old season, and I have always understood that they are likely to continue their later careers elsewhere.
'Tobougg is clearly an extremely good horse and has been a pleasure to train and I hope he goes on next season to fulfil the potential he has shown this year.'
