Jockey Kieren Fallon is the subject of an injury scare ahead of his ride on George Washington in the English 2,000 Guineas on Saturday, following an incident at Tipperary today.
Fallon received a bang to his foot on leaving the stalls on Convincing (soon eased and pulled up in the straight) in the 'Enjoy The Action At Tipperary As A Member' Handicap.
He was later taken by ambulance to Limerick Regional Hospital for x-rays on an injured right foot.
The race was won by the Michael Cleere-ridden Famous Seamus (10/1), who provided trainer Thomond O'Mara with his third winner of the new season.
O'Mara later reported 'Famous Seamus ran around a bit at Leopardstown on his last run and the bit of ease in the ground was a help. He'll run again at Killarney on Monday in a similar race.'
Fallon had earlier partnered the winner of the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden on David Wachman's newcomer Country Song.
The son of Fusaichi Pegasus chased the leaders before moving through to lead inside the final furlong, eventually proving half a length too strong for Howya Now Kid.
Afterwards, Wachman reported 'Country Song is a grand little horse and we'll step him up in class now; he's a long way to go to match his mother, Eliza, a high class filly in America.'
Elsewhere on the card, locally based Danny O'Connell saddled Five Seven Live to win the Glenview And Rathbarry Studs Hunters Chase, providing a topical winner for listeners of the RTE Radio 1 programme of the same name.
The winner, named after the Rachel English-hosted current affairs programme, is owned by English's father Tony English, and four other members of the Blue Barrel Syndicate.
The on-air presenter was absent but JT McNamara was on board the 9/2 winner, who raced prominently before easily accounting for the staying-on late Royal Ranger.
O'Connell was on hand to report 'JT advised me to put cheek pieces on him and they were a big help. We'll keep him going over the summer and he goes on any ground.'
Jessica Harrington's Ebenholz landed the Oola Handicap, under Tadgh O'Shea.
The gelded son of Namid chased the leaders and improved to lead under one furlong out, staying on well for a length win over Faynita.
Harrington later reported 'he improved a bit from his first run this year and is nicely handicapped; he'll go for another handicap over a similar trip again.'
Trainer John Oxx recorded his fifth winner of the new season, when his Adajal ran out the narrow winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden, under Mick Kinane.
The p2p.ie Mares Point to Point Bumper went to Presenting Copper, under Donal MacAuley.
Afterwards, winning owner/breeder and trainer Donal Coffey reported 'Presenting Copper's dam Copper Supreme won five point to points and two on the track; she'll be given a break now.'
He added 'she'll come back in and go hurdling; she is suited by that ground but wouldn't want it any deeper.'
