TILLERMAN STEPS UP

Tillerman will face seven rivals when he steps up in grade at Newbury tomorrow.

Amanda Perrett`s four-year-old came from last to first in the final two furlongs to win the Tote International Stakes on his most recent outing to earn a crack at the Group Three thehorsesmouth.co.uk Hungerford Stakes.

Godolphin rely on Siege from an original entry of four.

The four-year-old has not been seen out since finishing unplaced at Nad Al Sheba in March.

Luca Cumani`s Arkadian Hero and the Brian Meehan-trained Tumbleweed Ridge were also declared today, while Richard Hannon`s duo Umistim and Cape Town are the only three-year-olds in the #35,000 seven-furlong contest.

Last year`s Royal Hunt Cup winner Showboat _ without a victory since _ wears blinkers for the first time in tomorrow`s race.

Brian Gubby`s useful handicapper Omaha City completes the field.

James Toller withdrew Duck Row at the overnight stage and the Newmarket trainer is now considering running the five-year-old in the Ridgewood Pearl Desmond Stakes over a mile at the Curragh on Sunday.

'The ground is the key with him. He must have some give _ the softer the better,' Toller said. 'I only entered him at Newbury in case it came up heavy but seven furlongs on fast ground would be a waste of time.

'He`s in at Bath on Sunday but is more likely to run at the Curragh.'

Five promising two-year-olds go to post for the seven-furlong Doncaster Bloodstock Sales Washington Singer Stakes.

They include previous winners Lucayan Chief, Prizeman and Swing Band.

Hannon`s Prizeman has won his only start so far, an 18-runner maiden at York, in good style by four lengths from Petongski.

Tim Jones, for the colt`s owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing Ltd, said: 'He`s done nothing but please us and has come on again since York.

'He`s won over six furlongs but is bred to get further so maybe his class will carry him through.

'We are hopeful rather thanconfident.'

Freefourinternet and Perfect Sunday, who both shaped encouragingly on their debuts, complete the line-up for the Listed race.
