Double Thriller, trained by Paul Nicholls, could make a return visit to Wincanton, where he won twice last season.
The gelding is among the entries for Thursday's John Bull Chase at the Somerset course.
Nicholls said: "We are planning to run if it does not rain and the ground is not too soft.
"However the weather forecast says it should be dry and I'm looking forward to running the horse over a shorter trip. It should be interesting to see how he fares against Looks Like Trouble."
