THORNTON HOPING FOR QUICK RETURN

Andrew Thornton, badly bruised in a fall at Newcastle on Saturday, hopes to return to action at Doncaster this afternoon.

"I'm 100% better than I was yesterday but I just need some fine tuning before I'll know whether I can ride," he said this morning. "I'll have some physio when I get to Doncaster _ just some manipulation."

Thornton believes every racecourse should provide facilities for physiotherapy.

He said: "It's invaluable. I don't know why all tracks don't have it because one thing is certain with racing is that somebody is going to have a fall."

Thornton has two rides booked at Doncaster.
