Andrew Thornton has been forced to give up his three booked rides at Taunton today after suffering bruising in a heavy fall at Leicester on Wednesday.
Riding Kings Vean for Jeff King in a maiden chase, Thornton was injured when the eight-year-old came to grief three out.
"I've bruised the instep of my left foot so I'll give Taunton a miss this afternoon," he said. "I got my foot stuck in the iron and then the horse rolled over on top of me.
"It is my bad leg, the one I broke and there is some swelling there.
"I'll have some physio this afternoon and, with a bit of luck, I should be OK for Towcester tomorrow."
Thornton has ridden 41 winners so far this season and he added: "I've had a great start and long may it continue."
