Jockey Mark O'Hare and trainer Colin McBratney combined to take the concluding Dunshaughlin INH Flat Race at Fairyhouse today with newcomer Sydney Des Pictons
O'Hare made his progress on the French-bred entering the straight on the outer.
The pair challenged for the lead inside the final furlong and kept on well to deny the favourite Samain by a neck.
Winning trainer McBratney said afterwards: "He's a grand horse and we've done plenty with him at home."
"Mark [O'Hare] gave him a great ride, he was very patient and was always happy with him. He stayed on real gamely and i'm delighted with him."
"He loves the soft ground so we'll put him away now, but he certainly looks like a nice prospect."
