One Sweet Day pulled away in impressive style to land the opening six-furlong maiden at Cork this afternoon.

The Willie Browne-trained filly was well backed, returning a 4/1 shot having been as big as 14/1 this morning.

Seamie Heffernan was soon prominent on the Invincible Spirit filly and she was disputing on the stand's side at halfway.

She was sent into the lead over a furlong from home and quickened away in the closing stages to post a four-and-a-half length success over 25/1 shot Plezantlysurprised

"She ran very well on her first run in the Junction (Tipperary) and still didn't look fit at Navan, when she looked heavy and ran well to a point but the flat track suited today,” said Browne.

"We were hoping for a good run, she is a very well bred filly and she'll probably get a hike in the handicap now. I hope she is a black-type filly."
