Susie Dazzling at Clonmel The front-running exploits of the likes of Western Leader and Champagne Fever have helped to put the name of the sire Stowaway up in lights and his daughter Dazzling Susie was pretty spectacular making all and jumping brilliantly when making a successful chasing bow in the Funky Friday BBQ Evening Beginners Chase at Clonmel. Given the alacrity of her fencing, Tom Doyle's mount was always going to be difficult to peg back once slipping the field and it really was a case of unchallenged being the theme of the twenty one length victory over House Rules. Trained now in County Waterford by John Phelan, for whom she was having her third start tonight, Dazzling Susie, a dual bumper and a hurdle winner, was bred by Ronnie O'Neill, who stands Stowaway at Whytemount Stud in County Kilkenny. Phelan said: "She's a good mare and I was very pleased with her today. She can be a bit scatty. "I have a good few horses in at the minute and I'm based in Dunhill." Tom Doyle remarked: "She was amazing." Phelan has had success 'between the flags.' (DM & EM)
