Ronan McNally's Troytown Chase winner The Jam Man and his leading novice hurdler Dreal Deal have been left off for their summer breaks.

November's Troytown Chase winner The Jam Man was a mid-field finisher when last seen in a handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival while Dreal Deal was well beaten at Aintree last weekend, having previously won six consecutive races including the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Hurdle at Punchestown.

McNally tweeted “Dreal Deal and The Jam Man are away on their summer holidays and have earned their break. Can't wait for next season.”

Co Armagh based trainer also mentioned that Dreal Deal, well beaten at Aintree last weekend, had a “poor preparation and had no clean run with his training from the week before Christmas” adding “how he won the Grade 2 (at Punchestown), I'll never know, as he badly needed the run.”

McNally has no firm plans for Dreal Deal but is “very likely to go chasing” next season.
