Status Orange rain warning for the southwest tomorrow

An unsettled weather forecast could have a big impact on racing this weekend with a Status Orange rain warning for the southwest of the country bringing the possibility of localised flooding.

Killarney hosts a National Hunt card on Sunday with Flat action on Monday, and the south Kerry venue is predicted to get between 30 and 50mm of rain tomorrow.

The going at Killarney is currently good, good to firm in places (NH), and yielding (Flat).

Gowran Park also stages two days of racing with the jumpers taking centrestage both today and tomorrow and the going is currently described as good, good to yielding in places.

The weather outlook for the County Kilkenny venue is a lot more favourable with showers (4mm approx) forecast today.

There is a quality mixed card at Tipperary on Sunday with the going currently yielding (Flat) and good to yielding (NH).

There is the possibility of 15-20mm of rain, although Sunday is due to be mainly dry.
