Reach The Stars gave her backers a scare when holding on desperately in the 1m3f handicap at Limerick.
Dermot Weld 's charge was supported this morning from as big as 5/1 into 2/1 and was eventually sent off 5/2 joint favourite on course.
She hit the front turning for home and soon kicked clear. The Galileo filly was chased down inside the final furlong by market rival Concrete And Clay however.
Pat Smullen had to wring every last ounce out of is mount to just deny the late charge as the pair flashed past the post upsides.
"That's why Pat is Champion Jockey, He gave her a brilliant ride," said Weld.
"She'll go to Clonmel next for the Tipperary Cup (two-mile handicap)."
