Colin Keane doubled up at Cork on board 9/4 favourite Starlight Dream in the Fermoy Fillies Maiden.

A mile was the assignment and Keane raced his mount close to the pace before moving to the front after two furlongs.

The pair were strongly pressed in the final quarter of a mile by Menagerie and Mikey Sheehy who really served it up to them.

Starlight Dream came home best along the far rail, though, and, despite 4/1 shot Menagerie rallying in the closing stages, held on by a neck. Orchid Gardens finished three and a half lengths off this battle in third at 9/2.

Colin Keane said: "That's my first time riding her and she has been progressive and consistent. She handles that ease and the drop back in trip probably suited her.

"She is not a bad filly, is plenty raw and green and she could progress into a nice dual-purpose horse, especially with Matthew (Smith) who would have no problem getting her to do that job."

This moved Keane back to five in front of title rival Shane Foley who had won the preceding race on the card.

He won the opener on this card on Aidan O'Brien's Sir Lucan
