Stakes are High as Stewards order withdrawal The Joseph O’Brien trained High Language was a late withdrawal from the featured Listed Oyster Stakes at Galway today, with her declared rider Padraig Beggy failing to get to the racecourse on time, following an earlier attempt to substitute jockeys in the race. The Aidan O’Brien trained Pocketfullofdreams was an early non-runner from the race, due to having a temperature, and her declared jockey and Ballydoyle regular Seamus Heffernan was allowed by the raceday Stewards to switch to stablemate Pavlenko. However another request to replace Pavlenko’s rider Wayne Lordan with High Language’s jockey Padraig Beggy, was denied under Regulation 3. The raceday Stewards did not accept the replacement request, with High Language (for owner A. Cati) representing separate connections to Pocketfullofdreams and Pavlenko, who both race for trainer Aidan O’Brien and owners Coolmore. Beggy then failed to reach the track on time, and despite Lordan being ready and waiting at the scales in High Language’s colours, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse.
