Fozzy Stack doubled up at Navan this afternoon when New Theory just prevailed in a tight finish to the five furlong maiden. Isabella Expert set a strong pace in the race and Darragh O'Sullivan settled behind the front-runner on the eventual winner.
He produced his mount to take a narrow lead passing the furlong pole and the Starspangledbanner filly held Turners Cross on her inner to secure a neck success. Snapdragon was a short-head back in third with the fast finishing Lunigiana a nose behind in fourth.
The 11/1 winner was last seen in action in a valuable sales race at the Curragh. She had chased home Camille Pissarro on her debut here back in late April.
Stack said: "She's tough, she is honest and she put her head down and battled. She got her turn.
"She had a good run here first time behind Camille Pissarro.
"This one is against the head probably.
"It helps (O'Sullivan's claim), she was getting nearly a stone off the colts which makes a big difference.
"Horses run for him. He is a nice kid and I know his father well - his dad worked for my dad, so we go back a long way.
"He comes in on school holidays and things, and is a good, hard-working, grounded, young fella."
Stack has also won the opener with Bodhi Bear also by Starspangledbanner.
