Soft ground at Ballinrobe with more rain expected

There are jump meetings today at both Downpatrick this afternoon plus an evening card at Ballinrobe with an unsettled weather forecast at the western venue.

The going is currently Soft in Ballinrobe following 8.5mm of rain since declarations and Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning from 3pm, although the heaviest of the rain is expected after racing.

A seven-race card gets underway at 5.10pm with the feature race the Hollymount Nursing Home Handicap Hurdle at 5.40pm.

There is a Bank Holiday in Northern Ireland and Downpatrick hosts a seven-race afternoon card beginning at 1.55pm.

Following 4mm of rain and selective watering the going remains Good, and the forecast is mainly dry with the chance of an isolated shower.
