Slade Steel has options in Punchestown Cheltenham Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Slade Steel is set to run at next week’s Punchestown Festival. Trainer Henry De Bromhead will bring a strong team to Punchestown and Slade Steel will be one of his main hopes at the festival. He will be ridden again by Rachael Blackmore and the six-year-old gelding will run in either the Grade 1 KPMG Champion Novice Hurdle or the Grade 1 Allana Homes Novice Hurdle over 2m4f. De Bromhead told Dave Keena: "That's the plan (Punchestown) at the moment - we are hoping to go for one of the novices, either the 2m of the 2m4f. I'm not sure which yet, but we'll see nearer the time and we'll decide then. "Amazing (to win the Supreme), an iconic race and we had never won it before. He did it really nicely and we were delighted."
