Andy Slattery's Sir Allen is set to reappear at Leopardstown over Christmas after a never nearer third in the valuable Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle at Naas last month.

The five-year-old gelding ran short of room on the inner approaching the home bend, but stayed on nicely for third in the closing stages.

Assistant trainer Brian Slattery said: "He'll go to Leopardstown at Christmas for the Listed handicap hurdle.

"We feel we were very unlucky in Naas, he got murdered turning into the straight. I think with a clear run he would have taken a lot of beating.

"Hopefully, he can reproduce that again.

There is a great bunch of lads that own him (Eight Star Syndicate) and if he is up to that (Dublin Racing Festival and Cheltenham), we'll go."

Sir Allen has four victories in the book, two over flights and two on the Flat.
