Punters are confident that Japan could claim their first Arc victory at ParisLongchamp as Shin Emperor remains the best backed horse with BoyleSports ahead of Sunday's showpiece.
The Japanese raider was last seen finishing a fine third in the Irish Champion Stakes behind Economics and Auguste Rodin and has been backed into 6/1 (from 12/1) to secure a maiden victory for the Far East in Europe’s richest race.
Sosie and Look De Vega will fly the flag for the home team, sharing favouritism at 4/1 after clashing over course and distance in the Prix Neil last month. Andre Fabre’s Sosie had three-and-a-half lengths in hand over his rival that day, but punters have backed the Al-Shaqab owned Look De Vega into 4/1 (from 11/2) to give his owner a second success in the race.
Los Angeles heads the Irish raiding party at odds of 5/1 for Aidan O’Brien, but it’s son Joseph’s Al Riffa that patriotic punters are keen on playing. The Wootton Basset colt, who will be ridden by Japanese star, Yutaka Take, has been steadily backed from 25/1 into 9/1 in recent weeks and is drawn in stall 9, next to Look De Vega.

Ralph Beckett’s filly Bluestocking, who was supplemented for the race on Wednesday at a cost of €120,000 and has received a plum draw in stall 3, is 9/1 to record her third Group 1 victory of the season.
