Trainer Shark Hanlon reports stable star Hewick to have returned from a mid-season break in excellent condition.

However, despite the current unsettled weather, the Carlow based trainer is not giving up hope of a dry spell over the coming weeks.

Speaking at Downpatrick on Monday, Hanlon said of his King George winner: "He is back for the last two weeks and in great form.

"I couldn't be happier with him and came back looking amazing. He came back out of TJ McDonald's (owner) and he did a great job on him.

"It is the first time you could say he is a racehorse - he has an arse, he has a shoulder, he has everything.

"He might start off in America, if not he will go to Down Royal (in November). A lot depends on the ground in Ireland, he has to have nice ground.

"We are just going to play it by ear. We didn't get much of a summer here yet and I'm hoping the summer might come in the next two months."
