Trainer John 'Shark' Hanlon has had a partial victory in his Appeal against a 10 month suspension of his licence over an incident earlier this year when he was filmed transporting a deceased horse uncovered in a trailer.

The Appeals Body has determined that suspending the trainer's licence for a period of 10 months was too severe a sanction relative to similar cases in the past and has reduced the headline suspension to 6 months.

Shark Hanlon will commence his suspension on 1 December 2024, but if he adheres to certain condition he will be able to apply to have his licence restored after just 3 months.
