Shabra Emperor pulled clear in good style to land the 47-65 ten furlong handicap at Dundalk.
Oliver Brady's charge was sent off a 16/1 shot but travelled well into contention when produced on the outer at the two furlong mark by Declan McDonogh.
The gelding led with a furlong-and-a-half to run and soon quickened clear. He kept on strongly to post a four-and-a-half length win over Hurricane Season
The dual performer had returned from a break when finishing mid-divison in a two-mile handicap here last week.
“It's about time I rode a winner for Oliver as he used to work horses in Dad's place and I'd say I was only about ten when I rode work for him first,” revealed McDonogh.
Anthony McCann representing the trainer added: “We tried him over two miles last week and he didn't get it.
“Declan was surprised at the turn of foot he had. He loves this surface and ground is really the key to him.
“I'm pretty sure that's Oliver's first winner on the all-weather at Dundalk.”
