Trainer Ger Lyons has reported that smart juvenile filly Sparkling Sea is to miss the remainder of the season having picked up an injury.
A winner on her racecourse debut at Naas in April when beating Fairy Godmother, the Moyglare Stud Farm owned two-year-old subsequently finished just behind the latter when runner-up in a Group 3 race back at that same track on her next start.
While Sparkling Sea failed to run after that, her conqueror Fairy Godmother went on to boost that form when winning the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot on her next appearance.
Speaking at Leopardstown on Thursday evening, Ger Lyons said of Sparkling Sea: “She's injured. She had a setback, she recovered from her injury and went out to the paddocks yesterday.
“You'll see her next year.”
