Search For A Song ready for more sibling rivalry Search For A Song will bid to win the Irish St. Leger for a third time in what could be her final season in training. Dermot Weld's star mare won the race in both 2019 and 2020 before finishing sixth behind Sonnyboyliston in last year's renewal. She is on track for another crack at the Classic next month jockey Chris Hayes told Dave Keena, and could potentially face her brother Kyprios. "The plan will be for Search For A Song to go back for the Comer Group International Irish St. Leger again. She has won it twice and this could possibly be her last year in training. It would be nice if she could go out and win a third one," Hayes said. "She was very good the two times she won it. She was a little bit below par last year, but came out and bounced back to form on her next run (in a Group 3 at the Curragh in September last year). "I think she is just a filly that comes to hand this time of year. Similar to (Irish 1,000 Guineas winner) Homeless Songs, she just needs a bit of cushion underfoot as she is getting older. The Curragh have produced lovely ground all summer long. "She ran a good race in the trial a couple of weeks back, so if her prep keeps going the way it is going, she will take her part. "We gave her a break because of the firm ground. She came back well and is a filly that doesn't take a whole lot of work. She took a good blow with me a furlong and a half out and kept galloping (when runner-up in the Leger trial at the Curragh this month). I would imagine physically she will come on a lot. Mentally, it will have taken the freshness off her. I'd be looking forward to getting the leg up. "Kyprios is a full sibling. The two of them stretched away clear of the field over 1m6f in Navan (in April). We weren't beaten too far that day and hopefully we can get a little bit closer or even beat him on the day." Aidan O'Brien's Kyprios has since landed a pair of Group One's in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot and when beating Stradivarius by a neck in the Goodwood Cup.
