Pat Flynn’s Scots Gaelic overturned 4/7 favourite Zanoubiya to win the Tramore Supporters Club Maiden at Tramore today.
Ridden by Danny Grant, Scots Gaelic moved through to tackle Zanoubiya two furlongs out, eventually staying on well to lead inside the final furlong, for a length and a quarter win.
Afterwards Flynn, unable to resist a patriotic ‘Up the Deise’ shriek in the press room as his charge passed the line, reported “Scots Gaelic is a lovely horse and we’ll sit and see where he goes next. He may go for a three year old handicap or winners’ race now.”
He added “I stood his sire, Tomba, for three or four years at my Churchtown Hill Stud so I’m delighted to win with his progreny here.”
