Sugarfoot is set to take his chance in Sunday`s Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques le Marois at Deauville, it was revealed today.
The entire has an alternative engagement in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury a week tomorrow but looks set to take on Sendawar and company in France.
The six-year-old will be ridden by Cash Asmussen for the first time in the Group One contest.
Trainer Nigel Tinkler said: 'It looks as though he`s going to run.
'I was a little bit concerned that the ground would be too fast at Newbury next Friday and seven furlongs is just a bit too sharp for him.
'It`s a mile on Sunday, it is a Group One and if he did manage to get placed it would be worth more than winning a Group Three.
'We`re looking to his future. We`ve given it a lot of thought and if he finished in the first six we`d be delighted.
'If we don`t go we can`t perform.'
Sugarfoot has won twice this season but finished unplaced under top weight in the Tote International Handicap at Ascot last time.
'The horse is fine,' Tinkler added.
'Ray Cochrane gave him a great ride at Ascot and looked after him when he was beaten and he didn`t have a very hard race.
'The jockeys who have ridden him before aren`t available and Cash Asmussen rides him on Sunday.
'He`s not ridden him before but Sugarfoot`s a great ride.'
Godolphin still have three possible runners in Sunday`s big race despite the withdrawal of Fly To The Stars and Kabool at today`s second forfeit stage.
Possible Godolphin contenders are Island Sands, China Visit and Muhtathir.
With 16 standing their ground today the race could have one of the biggest fields of the past decade - there were only five runners when Dubai Millennium won last year.
Also out is Amanda Perrett`s Indian Lodge and Richard Hannon`s Cape Town, who might run instead in next Tuesday`s Prix Guillaume d`Ornano, also at Deauville.
Another absentee at today`s forfeit stage was the Michael Jarvis-trained Alrassaam who, along with Kabool, was declared to run instead in Saturday`s Prix Gontaut-Biron at the Normandy course.
The Hannon-trained Cape Grace, the mount of Thierry Jarnet, joins Alrassaam and Kabool.
Alrassaam and Kabool will be ridden by Philip Robinson and Christophe Soumillon respectively in the Group Three contest.
