Stormy Passage is reported on course for another attempt on the Thomas Pink Gold Cup at Cheltenham next month.
Philip Hobbs` charge finished a neck second to The Outback Way in the contest, known then as the Murphy`s Gold Cup, last year.
The trainer`s assistant Johnson White said: 'Stormy Passage is back in work now and seems to be in good form.
'He is being aimed at the Thomas Pink Gold Cup as he is quite high in the handicap and there are only certain races he can go for as a result.'
And the 10-year-old could be joined in the #80,000 feature by stablemate Village King, a winner at Cheltenham on New Year`s Eve and, like Stormy Passage, a faller in the Martell Grand National in April.
'Village King is also very possible to run in the Thomas Pink. If anything he is slightly more forward than Stormy Passage at the moment,' White added.
'Both horses will go straight there and not have a run beforehand.
'There is very little for them prior to the race and in any case they both seem to go well fresh.'
