Exciting chaser Fadalko is set to be unleashed again on Saturday - but where he runs remains undecided.
Paul Nicholls` charge has been left in the First Bank National Chase at Ascot and Huntingdon`s Peterborough Chase.
But connections want more time to weigh up the opposition, going and jockey availability before choosing a race.
Barry Simpson, the racing manager of Faldako`s owner Robert Ogden, said today: 'The horse is well and we want to run him this weekend but we`re probably going to leave it until as late as we can to decide where to go.
'The difference in the value of the races is the price of a cup of tea so that won`t govern our choice.
'And we know that the right-hand courses at Huntingdon and Ascot won`t present a problem as he won in that direction at Wincanton last time.
'What`s more important is the weather over the next few days. Henrietta Knight has said that Edredon Bleu might not run at Huntingdon if it was soft ground and that would certainlyopen up that race.
'We also want to see which jockeys will be available for us at the weekend.'
Mick Fitzgerald was in the plate when Fadalko impressed at Wincanton last month but his availability is not guaranteed on Saturday.
Fadalko is still rated more than 14lb below the very top class.
But his Wincanton victory saw his odds slashed to 16-1 (from 25s) for the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
'It remains to be seen whether the will be quite as good going down to two miles,' said Simpson.
'It could be that he will be better off going for the Cathcart Chase at Cheltenham. But at the moment there`s no doors closed to this horse.'
Looking ahead to the Henessey Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday week, Ogden could run three of his five entries.
The ante-post favourite Ad Hoc, Kingsmark and Marlborough are all likely starters but Davoski and Extra Jack may miss the three-mile-and-two-furlongs handicap, according to Simpson.
'If the ground is good to soft or soft then I would say Ad Hoc, Kingsmark and Marlborough are possibilities,' he said.
'Ad Hoc is the shortest-priced of our runners but there is no particular preference. The most important thing is the welfare of the horses.
'It will go right down to the wire before we finalise Henessey plans as we will want to see whether Mick Fitzgerald is available.'
