STAGE SET FOR AFFAIR

Smart hurdler Stage Affair is set to reappear on Saturday.

But Dermot Weld has yet to decide whether to send him north of the border to Down Royal for the Killultagh Properties Hurdle or run him closer to home.

The trainer said today: 'Stage Affair is also in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown on Saturday and I will make a decision on Friday.'

Stage Affair, who won four races last season and finished second in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown, is quoted at 33-1 for the Smurfit Champion Hurdle by William Hill.

Slaney Native, who disappointed in the Thomas Pink Handicap Chase at Cheltenham last Saturday, is set to run in the Isuzu Chase on the Down Royal Card.

But Native Upmanship is reported unlikely to contest the same race by trainer Arthur Moore, who is eying next month`s Tripleprint Gold Cup at Cheltenham instead.
