STAG OUT FOR REVENGE

Running Stag will bid to gain revenge on Behrens in the US600,000 Massachusetts Handicap at Suffolk Downs on Saturday.

Philip Mitchell's charge will carry 8st 4lb in the Grade Two contest over nine furlongs and will receive 5lb from top-weight Behrens, the same terms on which they met last season when Running Stag came out second-best by a half-length.

Shane Sellers rode the entire to win an allowance race at Belmont Park earlier in the month but is riding at Churchill Downs this weekend, leaving John Velazquez to come in for the mount.

Mitchell said today: "He's absolutely fine and he's come out of the Belmont race brilliant.

"We are on identical terms but I think this will be a completely different race to last year.

"We had to make the running then but this year there is a real speed horse called David in the field and I don't honestly know what will happen.

"We'll just have to see but I'm very, very hopeful."
