Relationships between jockeys and bookmakers in Britain are being examined by the Jockey Club's Integrity Review Group, it emerged today.
Last week Gibralter-based bookmakers Victor Chandler announced their sponsorship of champion jockey Kieren Fallon and the Tote has backed both Frankie Dettori and Tony McCoy.
"The sponsorship of jockeys is something that is dealt with by the British Horseracing Board," said Jockey Club spokeswoman Julia Cook.
"Basically there is nothing in the BHB protocol that prevents the arrangement but the relationships between jockeys and bookmakers is one of the matters being looked at by the Integrity Review Group, who will report later in the summer."
