SINNDAR`S BROTHER ATTRACTS INTEREST

Sirinndi, a half-brother to Derby winner Sinndar, was the subject of spirited bidding following his victory in the opener at Chepstow today.

While the six-year-old only has a fraction of the ability of his illustrious relation he took thehorsesmouth.co.uk Novices` Selling Hurdle by eight lengths from Begsy`s Bullet.

Champion trainer Martin Pipe was suitably impressed and tried to prize Sirinndi from Karen Marks, but the Tenbury Wells permit holder managed to retain her charge for 14,500 guineas.

Miss Marks was keen to hang on to him having bought the gelding out of Barney Curley`s yard for 7,500 guineas at the Doncaster October Sales.

'We thought we would be a bit brave and buy him,' she said on greeting her third winner of the season.

The 5-1 shot was well-handled by 7lb claimer Chris Honour. The 21-year-old, attached to Kim Bailey`s stable, was riding the sixth winner of his career but his first of the season.
