SILCA HEADS FALMOUTH ACCEPTORS

Golden Silca and Amethyst, second in the Irish 1000 Guineas in 1999 and 2000 respectively, headed confirmations made today for the sportingodds.com Falmouth Stakes.

The pair are among 17 fillies left in the #60,000 Group Two contest, richest race on the second day of the Newmarket July meeting.

Golden Silca, trained by Mick Channon, is the only older filly left in next Wednesday's one-mile race which has fallen to a three-year-old every year since 1992.

Others left in today include Willie Jarvis' hat-trick-seeking Papabile and Godolphin's unraced Inaaq, a sister to 1999 Dubai World Cup winner Almutawakel who was unplaced in a private trial at Nad Al Sheba in the spring.
