Shiva heads the list of 15 entries made today for the Weatherbys Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday.
Henry Cecil's five-year-old mare won the race last year before going on to beat the mighty Daylami in the Group One Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh.
Among her possible rivals in the nine-furlong contest are Sagitta 2000 Guineas fourth Brancaster, formerly trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam and now in the care of Sir Michael Stoute.
John Dunlop's 1998 Dewhurst Stakes winner Mujahid, who failed to win last season, has also been put in the Group Three contest.
Other interesting entries are the French colt Barbola, the tough mare Diamond White, who ran 23 times last year, and Richard Hannon's smart miler Gold Academy.
The Victor Chandler European Free Handicap over seven furlongs on the same card has attracted an entry of 20 three-year-olds including the highly-regarded Stoute-trained King's Best, who has recently been pleasing connections with his work on the Newmarket gallops.
Trouble Mountain, trained by Barry Hills, is an interesting contender having finished a good second to subsequent Middle Park Stakes winner Primo Valentino in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury in September on his last visit to a racecourse.
