SARTORIAL SORTS THEM OUT

Sartorial showed himself fully recovered from injury as he easily disposed of 10 rivals in the opener at Haydock Park today.

Moving to the front two furlongs out, the 9-2 chance ran on strongly to defeat the newcomer Annette Vallon by three and a half lengths in the 'Winner Alright' Maiden Stakes.

Trainer Peter Makin preferred not to make the trip to the north west leaving his assistant Mark Rowlands to supervise.

Rowlands said: 'We've got a full stable of 50 for this season - and if they can all win like that we'd be doing pretty well.

'We've always rated this horse but he sustained a bad injury to his pelvis on his last outing at Wolverhampton last July.

'Hopefully now that he's won here he can go to be the horse we thought he was going to be.'
