Today's televised meeting at Sandown has largely beaten the threat of waterlogging.
Racing at the rain-hit track was given the go-ahead after an inspection this morning, though the final event on the card could still be lost.
Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper said: 'We had another 3{mm of rain overnight but in the main we are OK.
'The one problem area is the mile-and-a-quarter start where it is very, very soft for the best part of a furlong. We will have another look there at about 8.30am.
'That only concerns the last race and we might have to call that off and run a six-race card. The rest of the course is fine - heavy but raceable.'
The first four races on today's card are due to be shown on Channel 4, including the Group Two Tripleprint Temple Stakes. - PA
