German Derby winner Samum annihilated his rivals in the Mercedes Benz Grosser Preis von Baden in Germany to earn a crack at the Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe next month.
German champion jockey Andrasch Starke held up the 1.6-1 favourite as French Derby winner Holding Court set the pace.
Andreas Schutz`s charge made up ground rapidly in the straight and, hitting the front in the final furlong pulled two and a half lengths clear of Catella.
Fruits of Love did best of the British challengers finishing a head further back in third.
Daliapour who had started second favourite for the Group One prize, the fourth leg of the Emirates World Series, finished fourth and Holding Court fifth.
'He is an exceptional colt - probably the best I have ever had,' declared Schutz after the three-year-old had survived a short stewards` inquiry.
'Already before the Derby we thought very highly of him. We then learned that he was special and now everyone else knows it too.
'The groundwas not in our favour today but he showed us that he is a top performer.
'The initial plan was to come on the outside but when they turned into the straight his jockey saw that he could save some ground by coming on the inside. Samum quickened and it paid off.'
The three-year-old colt, who is now unbeaten in six starts, will tackle the Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe next.
Fruits Of Love`s jockey Michael Roberts was pleased with his mount`s effort on going described as `very soft`.
'My horse prefers good ground and he ran a great race today,' Roberts said.
'I even thought for a second that I was going to win but the winner just came flying past us. He must be very, very good.'
