SAKHEE TO JOIN GODOLPHIN

Sakhee, who chased home Sinndar in the Vodafone Derby at Epsom in June, is one of a quartet of horses who are to join the ranks of Godolphin in Dubai.

The son of Bahri, who has been off the course since finishing fourth in the Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown the following month, has been trained this season by John Dunlop for Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.

Dunlop had been hoping to get Sakhee ready for a tilt at the Dubai Champion Stakes at Sandown on Saturday but was forced to admit defeat after the colt suffered a couple of minor setbacks which delayed his preparation.

Joining Sakhee in Dubai will be Ekraar, Equerry and Savoir Vivre.

Progressive colt Ekraar has won his last three starts in good fashion, including the Select Stakes and the Rose of Lancaster Stakes.

Trained this year by Marcus Tregoning, his trainer`s loss will be compensated by the fact that the name of Nayef is missing from the quartet.

This would apparently leave the door clear for the ante-post Sagitta 2000 Guineas favourite - a half-brother to Nashwan and Unfuwain - to remain in training with Tregoning rather than head for sunnier surroundings.

Instead, Godolphin will handle another unbeaten juvenile, Equerry, who has won his three starts to date for Andre Fabre, most recently in a Group Three event at Longchamp.

Savoire Vivre, who had to miss the Rothmans Royals St Leger at Doncaster, because of a slight injury, is another progressive type.

Trained by John Gosden, the three-year-old Sadler`s Wells colt was a close second to Murghem in the Group Two thehorsesmouth.co.uk Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury in August on his second and most recent start.
