John Ryan is hoping for some rain ahead of running Lucid Dreams at Down Royal on Saturday week.

The Arcadio gelding finished third in the Kerry National on his return to action at Listowel and is set to tackle Grade 2 company now in the Down Royal Chase.

The nine-year-old picked up prize-money behind runaway winner Flooring Porter last time but the Templemore handler side-stepped the Munster National with his charge last weekend because of the going.

“He will go to Down Royal for a second-season novice chase. The ground at Limerick for the Munster National was too good and it is also too good at Cheltenham,” said Ryan.

"He is a big horse, 650 kilos, so I don't want to run him on the wrong ground."
