Russell suffers suspected broken arm and leg Dual Champion Jockey Davy Russell has suffered a suspected broken right humerus (upper arm) and tibia (lower leg) in a fall at Gowran today. Russell fell as leader Feenakilmeedy crashed out at the third last fence in a beginners' chase. The rider also brought down Shuilamach, at a fence which also claimed another separate faller. Speaking an hour after the fall Paddy Graffin, Clerk of the Course stated "Davy Russell has gone to St Lukes A & E in Kilkenny with a suspected broken arm and leg. He's fully conscious but basically he brought down the horse coming behind (Shuilamach) and took the full brunt of a horse travelling at 30 miles an hour." By Tom Weekes, quotes from Alan Magee
