Patrick Griffin was rewarded for sending Roi Mage to France on Sunday with success in the Listed cross country chase on the card at Craon.
The 12-year-old gelding tackled an extended 3m5f on testing ground and was partnered by France-based James Reveley.
The duo raced prominently and were left in the lead at the 12th obstacle. They made the best way home from there and powered clear before the last to sail in by seven lengths at 42/10.
French-bred Roi Mage was ninth, seventh and seventh respectively in the last three renewals of the Aintree Grand National.
He is now approaching the million-pound earnings mark having won 11 of his 58 races under rules and in being placed almost 20 times.
